Espresso Bars
The coffee scene in Korea has undergone a significant transformation in recent years. While the market was once dominated by large chain coffee shops, there has been a notable shift towards more independent and original coffee menus, particularly those featuring Italian-style espresso bars.
This trend towards more original coffee menus has been fueled by a growing interest in specialty coffee and a desire for unique and authentic experiences. Consumers are no longer satisfied with the mass-produced and generic coffee offerings of the past. Instead, they are seeking out more personalized and artisanal coffee experiences that offer a deeper connection to the coffee-making process.
One of the most notable trends in this shift towards original coffee menus is the rise of the Italian-style espresso bar. These espresso bars offer a unique and authentic coffee experience that is rooted in Italian coffee culture. From the carefully crafted espresso shots to the creamy cappuccinos, these espresso bars offer a taste of Italy in the heart of Korea.

What sets these espresso bars apart is the attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients used. The baristas are highly skilled and trained to produce the perfect espresso shot, using only the finest and freshest beans. The milk used for cappuccinos and lattes is also carefully selected and prepared to ensure the perfect balance of flavor and texture.
This shift towards Italian-style espresso bars has been welcomed by coffee enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. It has brought a new level of authenticity and quality to the coffee scene in Korea, while also offering a unique and enjoyable experience for consumers.
Where do you go enjoying your espresso?
There are really so many espresso bars that is hard to keep track of all of them. Among the most fancy we have visited Ouya Espresso Bar, Frolla, Mots, Leesar Coffee and All That Coffee were really great in terms of menu and atmosphere.

Things move so fast in Seoul especially when it is about coffee... the long day of Standing Coffee, the Itaewon coffee shop that got everyone curious for the name and for not having any chairs, are long gone.

Since coffee is about taste, there is no doubts that coffee tastes better in Seoul now than in the past. We have tried a lot of espresso bars and coffee shops and talked to many coffee enthusiasts about the new coffee trends and it is definitely a less acid coffee taste than in the past. What is more look after is a creamy, round note, chocolate rich espresso or even in its watery form of americano.
